Amy is a Lubbock native and holds an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood & Management from South Plains College as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Studies from Wayland Baptist University. Amy has almost a decade of experience in working directly with young children serving as a lead teacher for infants and toddlers at Texas Tech Early Headstart.
Prior to her tenure at Texas Tech, Amy served as a lead teacher for infants at the YWCA Child Development Center.
Amy is bilingual and holds certification in the Parents as Teachers educational model and is able to serve families expecting a baby through age 5.
Amy implements the community-wide Early Literacy program by providing Storytime events at regional libraries in Wolfforth, Slaton and Shallowater and also provides support for the Lubbock Early Literacy program provided at City of Lubbock libraries Storytime events.
